HEALING AND ABUNDANCE
Practices of Urgyen Menla and Khando Norlha in the Dudjom Tersar

Guru Padmasambhava, who introduced and established Dzogchen and the Old Tantra system, of the Nyingmapas in Tibet was concerned not only with the ultimate salvation and liberaton of individual human beings from Samsara, but also with practical benefits for them in their present lives. Therefore, his Termas contained many teachings and practices relating to healing and the curing of diseases, as well as practices relating to the realization of prosperity and abundance. In consequence, he manifested himself as Urgyen Menla, his aspect as the Medicine Buddha, and as Khandro Norlha, his aspect as a wealth god. This seminar will examine the methods associated with these two aspects of the Guru.

THE WHITE MAHAKALA
Wealth and Protection Practices
Seminar via Zoom, Saturday and Sunday, time 16.00-20.00 CET with breaks. In all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism, Mahakala, the Great Black One, is regarded as among the greatest and most powerful of all the Dharmapalas, or Guardians of Buddhism, its teachings and its practitioners. Moreover, he is regarded as a wrathful emanation of the Great Compassionate Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, who adopts this ferocious guise when peaceful methods fail to subdue and transform obstacles and also theats emanating from the sources of negative energies, Paradoxically, the White Mahakala functions as a protection and wealth practice that comes through the Mahasiddha lineage of Shavaripa in India and from Khyungpo Naljyor in Tibet. We shall focus upon the pratice of this Mahakala in the tradition of Lama Taranatha.

MAGICAL PRACTICES FROM THE SECRET BOOK OF SIMHAMUKHA,
the Lion-Headed Goddess of Wisdom and Magical Power
The practice of the Wisdom Dakini Simhamukha consists principally of Todlay, or the higher ritual and meditation practices that aim at the realization of the ultimate spiritual goal of liberation from suffering in Samsara and the attaining of Buddha enlightenment. This entails the mastering of the visualization process of Kyerim and the internal yogas of Dzogrim. However, there is also the Melay, or lower magical practices dealing with overcoming of the obstructions encountered in one’s ordinary daily life by way of cultivating within oneself certain powers and capacities and the performing of certain rituals. Here we shall examine a number of these practices associated with Simhamukha as found in the Lay-tsok, or Collectiom of Magical Rites, whcich is part of the Secret Book of Simhamukha.

PRACTICES OF KURUKULLA
the Wisdom Dakini of Enchantment and Witchcraft
More than any other figure in the \Buddhist pantheon, Kurukukka becomes the Buddhist goddess of eroticism and sex, much like the Western goddesses Aphrodite and Venus. She is depicted as a nude, voluptuous, and seductive sixteen year old maiden, holding attributes suggesting her powers, such as an iron hook of attraction, a noose to bind others to her will, and a flower-entwined bow and arrow. But as a Goddess of Witchcraft and Enchantments, she is also akin to the medieval Diana, the Queen of the Witches. It is she who brings all those beings who are otherwise difficult to subdue under her spell and power. Yet she is no mere worldly goddess, but is an emanation of the female Buddha Tara in her red form, She therefore represents the expression of the enlightened awareness and skillful means of a Buddha. In this weekend seminar, we shall look into the meditation and ritual practices of the Dakini Yoga associated with Kurukulla, the mistress of enechantment and witchcraft, who comes when invoked from Khechara, the pure dimension of the Dakinis located in the western direction.

MAGICAL ATTRACTION PRACTICES WITH KURUKULLA, HAYAGRIVA, AND MAHADEVA
The alluring and enchanting Wisdom Dakini known as Kurukulla, who represents the red form of the female Buddha Tara, was said to come to us originally from the mysterious land of the Dakinis, Uddiyana, situated in the western dierction. Although embodying the femine aspect of Buddha enlightenment, this Wisdom Dakini is associated especially with enchantment, eroticism, and witchcraft, and in particular she uses her seductive and magnetically attracting powers in order to influence and benefit sentient beings, including buman society and the natural environment. She is assisted in these activities by her lover and consort, the Padma Heruka Hayagriva and also by the worldly Guardians known as Mahadeva and Umadevi. The focus of this seminar will be on the megical attraction practices connected with Kurukulla, as well as with Hayagriva, Mahadeva, and Umadevi.

THE PRACTICE OF GANAPUJA
the Tantric Feast of Kurukulla
Generally, sadhana meditation practice in the Tibetan tradition of Vajrayana is something the practitioner does individually and in private, whether daily or in a retreat situation over a period of time. The candidate receives transmission or empowerment to do the practice from the Lama, as well as instructions regarding how to do the practice, and then retires to his monastery chamber, or else to a remote location and practices on his own. One returns periodically to the Lama to report one’s experiences or ask questions. In the Tibetan tradition, the usual congregational or group practice is that of puja, or an offering ceremony. Most important among these group practices is the Ganapuja or Tsok. This Tantric Feast has the principal purpose of repairing the broken samaya vows that connect and link the practitioner with the Guru, the Yidam meditation deity, and one’s vajra brothers and sisters who have been initiated into the same mandala. In this seminar, we will survey the structure and procedure of the Ganapuja for the Wisdom Dakini Kurukulla.

WITCHES AND DAKINIS
The Dark Images of the Feminine in Tantra, Paganism, and Wicca.
This seminar will explore the images of the feminine in Western Esotericism, Ceremonial Magic, and Wicca on the one hand, and in the Higher Tantras of the Vajrayana Buddhism of India and Tibet on the other. In particular, we shall look at the archetypes of the Dark Feminine of the Witch in the Western traditions of Christianity and Paganism, as well as at the figure of the Dakini in the Tantric tradition of Tibet.This includes the threefold aspect of Maiden, Mother, and Crone in the West and the Outer, Inner, and Secret Aspects of the Dakini in the Dudjom Tersar. Like the Witch, the Dakini represents the principle of the independent feminine, that is to say, all those aspects of the feminine that are outside and beyond the control of male-dominated patriarchal culture and society, whether religious or secular in context.
